This website is brought to you by PROJECT VERNON, registered charity number 1128677. It’s aim, as it says at the top of this Home Page, is to link Gunwharf Quays with HMS VERNON, the Royal Navy, Mine Warfare and Diving. The website is set out in chronological order and, by following the menu at the top or bottom of every page, you can track the story of the ships and people involved in Royal Navy mine warfare and diving operations, from the earliest days of HMS VERNON, through both World Wars, the post war period of the Cold War and conflicts in the Falklands and the Middle East, up to the present day. Towards the last page the section on Recent Events will take you to what is happening right now to the Royal Navy’s mine countermeasures ships and diving teams.
